MARÍA ISABEL (MARIBEL) ANDRADE GARCÍA DE LA SERNA
The artist and painter Maribel Andrade was born in Malaga (Spain).
She lived in Madrid, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands), Belgrade, London, Copenhagen, Paris and Milan. Her works reflect, through her personal perception of beauty and light, the places where she has lived.
Maribel works with a rich colour palette, where watercolour prevails with its requirements of immediacy, mastery in the definition and construction of colours.
Maribel also masters oil painting with a clear creative touch that becomes even more evident in her use of colour.
Her paintings show her original perception of places and objects of our immediate surroundings, capturing the essence of things and creating an air of mystery in each of her paintings, where mist and colour intermingle, that instil spontaneity and give us the soul of her personality. There is strength to be perceived in the strokes of her drawings, which invite us to look at them with a new attitude, enjoying this look that insinuates itself as fresher, but disclosing new facets.
Nature is widely present in her paintings: landscapes, flowers, birds, butterflies, looking full of life out of delicate strokes.
Portraits reflect even more vividly Maribel’s force and character. The persons portrayed speak to us, telling through these lines so many parts of their personality, which Maribel has been able to capture in those strokes full of character.
